My name is Dan Clermont and I'm a candidate for Sarasota City Commission, District 3. I'm running to bring common sense to the decision making process at City Hall and refocus our precious resources on the core responsibilities of city governance. City Government should be fiscally responsible, focus on infrastructure, preserve our parks and open spaces, support our critical Arts and Culture, and maintain safe and character rich neighborhoods.
My wife, Yvette, and I have 5 grown children who live all around America giving us a great chance to travel and see the country. However, I've not experienced anywhere with a quality of life quite like Sarasota. People come from all over the world to enjoy our terrific weather, beautiful beaches, great restaurants, rich arts culture and outdoor activities. We truly live in a special place! Now that doesn't mean we're not without our issues.
From Green Bay, Wisconsin originally, I worked virtually my entire life running and building small businesses. Whether it was an embroidery and screen printing company or a laboratory air quality and renovations operation, as a former small business owner I've learned the value of common sense decision making and the importance of prioritizing limited resources. As a resident of Arlington Park I look to bring my love of community, passion for quality of life, and common sense and fiscal responsibility to city governance.
I hope you will join me as I work to earn your support to represent you, the residents of the City of Sarasota and neighborhoods of District 3. Please reach me at (941) 962-4857 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
